RULES & REGULATIONS

The following definitions and rules of interpretation apply in these conditions:

  1. a)  School means Central Music Institute.

  2. b)  Student means a person to whom the school provides or has provided tuition and includes the parent or

    legal guardian of any Student under the age of 18 years old.

  3. c)  Services means the music classes given by the School to its Students.

  4. d)  Rules & Regulations means the terms and rules set out above and below in this document.

  1. Attendance: Regular attendance is expected of all students. If a student is unable to attend a lesson, they must notify the instructor at least 24 hours in advance. Non-attendance for two consecutive weeks without prior notice will be taken as disinterest in continuing the lessons.

  2. Reporting Time: All Students are required to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the commencement of their lesson or class. All Students will be required to sign an attendance sheet at the commencement of the lesson or class.

  3. Practice: Students are expected to practice regularly and to come to their lessons prepared. Parents or guardians of younger students are asked to help ensure that their child is practicing at home.

  4. Behaviour: Students are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful of their instructors and fellow students. Discipline should be observed at all times. Mobile phones must be kept in silent mode during class.
    Any behaviour that is disruptive or disrespectful will not be tolerated.

  5. Payment/Fee: All fees are payable in advance by the respective due date of every month in cash/cheque/card, failing which, a late fee fine shall be levied. Students have to pay all the financial obligations towards the School before the scheduled time. If the Student fails to clear his dues even after 10 days of the due date, He/she may not be allowed to attend the classes. Furthermore, if the Student fails to clear their dues even after 30 days from the due date, then his/her name would be struck off the rolls without any notice, and the security (if any) shall also be forfeited. However he/she can be readmitted on repayment of admission fee and Security amount (if any) along with fee. If a Student takes admission in the middle of the month his/her fee would be due for payment on the same date every month as the date of admission and the same rule as above would follow.

  6. Absent: In the event a student is 20 minutes late to a lesson or class, without 48 hours written notice, the lesson or class will be counted as “absent” and no reimbursement will be offered. Additionally, if a student is absent from a lesson or class, or, attends a class late, without 48 hours prior written notice, the student will not be entitled to make up the lesson or class.

  7. Group Lesson: If the Student is enrolled in a class with two (2) or more Students, one Student will not unilaterally be permitted to reschedule the class. A class with two (2) or more Students will need to be rescheduled by consent of all Students and the instructor.

  8. Materials: Students are responsible for obtaining their own music and any other materials required for their lessons. The school will provide a list of recommended materials.

  9. Recitals: Students will have the opportunity to participate in recitals and other performance opportunities. Participation is optional, but encouraged.

  10. Safety: Students are expected to follow all safety procedures and guidelines established by the school. This includes proper handling of instruments and equipment. All food or drinks are prohibited from entering the classroom to avoid damage to the instruments and equipment. Any damage caused by a Student for failing to abide by this clause will result in the Student reimbursing the School for the cost of repair.

  11. Responsibility: All Students under the age of eighteen (18) who attend the School are the responsibility of their designated parent or guardian before, during and after lessons and classes at the School. Should a situation arise where a Student is injured while at the School, the School will not be responsible or liable for such injury.

  12. Media Rights: All productions and other media products done by students in the academy are sole property of Central Music Institute. A copy of the students’ production, if it is subject to the mark, can be provided to the concerned student after passing out and fulfilling all norms.

  13. Changes: The School reserves all rights to make any changes/up-gradation in course curriculum, faculty, fee structure or training schedule in any academic session which it deems fit.

  14. Medical Conditions: All Students must notify the School of any allergies or medical conditions prior to the commencement of all classes and lessons. In the event a Student misses a class due to medical reasons, the Student will be required to provide the School with a doctor’s note. Should the Student be required to miss four (4) weeks or more of classes or lessons due to medical reasons, please immediately advise the School and alternative arrangements may be made with each Student on an individual basis.

  15. Sanitation: All Students and accompanying friend or family member must throw all trash and other litter in the appropriate garbage bin both inside the classroom and inside the facility.

  16. Masterclass: Events, functions, workshops, clinics and masterclasses are an extension part of the course curriculum.

  17. Refunds: Fee and other charges once paid are non-refundable. There will be no refunds for missed lessons, however, make-up lessons can be scheduled at the discretion of the instructor.

  18. Placement: The school shall give placement assistance but no guarantee of placement to the students after completion of their respective courses. 

  19. Cancellation of lessons: The school reserves the right to cancel lessons due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, make-up lessons will be scheduled.

  20. Age requirement: Students must be at least 3 years old to enrol in classes, for younger students we have special early learning programs.

  21. Redressal: In case of any complaints/suggestions, please contact the Discipline Committee. The decision of the Discipline Committee will be final.

By enrolling in our music school, students and parents/guardians agree to abide by these rules and regulations. Violation of any of these rules may result in dismissal from the program.
